“Is He Talking about You”

A woman and her little daughter were in a service in which the preacher spoke about how obedience toward God is revealed in the manner in which one attends to the small duties of everyday life. He described how many parents neglected their spiritual duties in the home; how they retired night after night without praying for God’s watch-care, and how in the morning they failed to thank Him for rest, protection, and the new blessings of the new day.
The little girl listened attentively. Turning to her mother, she whispered,
“Mama, is the minister talking about you?”
The simple question pierced her heart. She said nothing, but that night she knelt and, before her bed, confessed her sin and asked God’s help in carrying out her duties.
